Set Fire to It, a high-energy EDM / Hip-Hop fusion track, is the result of a collaboration between Dutch producer Snyker and Canadian rapper Daybreak.
With a musical and lyrical theme heavily inspired by Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and other fantasy settings, Set Fire to It tells the tale of a king whose throne is usurped by foes and who is exiled from his kingdom alone and without recourse out into the wilderness. Over the years, he builds his own army and returns to his former kingdom to destroy his enemies and burn everything down so his reign can start again.
Featuring captivating and terrifying artwork by noted Vancouver artist Mo Sherwood which depicts members of the former king’s new militia looking down upon the burning city they have conquered, Set Fire to It is an intense tribute to the most vicious kind of medieval warfare where there can be no heroes.
“As soon I started listening to Snyker’s beat I immediately felt how cinematic it was. These pounding drums that sounded like a call to war and just the build up to the epic chorus, it all made me think of a medieval battle from a movie,” says Daybreak when describing his approach to the flow and the lyrics for the song. “In the end, the image that stuck with me was a city on fire so I went with it from there.”
